And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
"God is love." Three words that contain a complete theology. Not "God is loving" — an adjective describing one of many qualities. John says: God is love. Love is not something God does. It is what God is. And because God is love, living in love is living in God, and living in God is being loved by the God who is love.
